Kristin's Fiction Works

Panic My first publication!! This short, short story appeared as one of the winning entries in the Good Times Annual 66 Word Short Story Contest.

The submission had to be 66 words or less. It was so great seeing my first by line in PRINT!!
Lot of Dents This story came from an online writing contest that gave the first sentence "I could have avoided all that trouble if only I had remembered to..." as the prompt.

The submission had to be less than 700 words and start with the given phrase. "Lot of Dents" was born from that prompt. In its original form of <700 words, I present it here. I really like this one and used it in my fiction class for a booth submission. The feedback I received has inspired me to keep working on it and possibly submit for short-short story in a magazine. What do you think of this one? Email me and let me know.
The Hotel Room This story was born from a writing prompt from an assignment in Fiction 1. The prompt was this:

A man is having an affair and has taken his lover to a hotel room for sex. Afterwards, the man falls asleep. When he wakes up, he finds he is in bed with his wife, not his lover. Start the story from that point. I wrote ~600 words for the assignment, but then expanded that into this story.
Fiction Writing 1 - Compiled Works of Kristin Cohn I just completed a fiction class with Gotham Writers' Workshop. This document compiles all my assignments and booth submissions along with relative feedback from the instructor and other students.
